Mysore Pak

A traditional dessert originated from Mysore.It is Made with generous amount of ghee.




Melted Ghee-2cups



  • Take a pan,add ghee and keep on low flame till you prepare Mysore.
  • Now take another pan add sugar and water.Boil till sugar melts.
  • Keep the flame on low, add besan in batches and stir inbetween.
  • Make sure there are no lumps.Now add a ladleful of hot ghee over besan mixture.
  • Stir continuously till ghee is absorbed completely.Repeat this process till all the ghee is used or till the mixture starts to separate from pan.
  • Immediately,transfer the mixture on greased plate.Cut into pieces after 4-5mins and keep aside to cool.
  • Separate the pieces only when it is completely cool.
  • Serve it.

Gulab Jamun

Gulab jamun- “A traditional Indian dessert and one of the most loved Indian sweet”.


Mawa-2cups crumbled

All purpose flour-4tbsp

Milk powder-3tbsp

Sugar-3 ups



  • Combine Mawa,flour,milk powder in a bowl and knead well and make a smooth dough.
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll each into smooth balls.Make sure there are no cracks otherwise it will crack while frying.
  • Cover it with a damp cloth and keep it aside.
  • In a pan combine the sugar and water.Cook on a medium flame till it reaches one string consistency.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and deep fry the gulab jamun in batches until they turns brown in colour.
  • Now immerse gulab jamun in warm syrup.
  • Soak the gulab jamun in sugar syrup for atleast one hour.
  • Serve warm.

Butter Cookies

A basic butter cookie recipe.It is so soft and just melts in mouth.


All purpose flour-2 1/4cup


Powdered sugar-3/4cup

Salt-a pinch


  • Cream the butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy.sieve flour and salt for twice.
  • Mix flour mixture with butter and make a dough.
  • Wrap the dough and keep in refrigerator for an hour.
  • Pre heat the oven @180°C .
  • Take out the dough from refrigerator and divide into two portions.
  • Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes using a cookie cutter.
  • Place in baking tray and bake in preheated oven@180°C for 18-20mins.
  • Once done remove from oven and let it cool down completely.


    • No need to line the baking tray.As it has so much butter in it that it leaves the pan easily.

    Paan Cake | Betel Leaf cake

    “PAAN CAKE” ..a unique flavoured cake from other cakes.A big treat for all Paan lovers like me.


    All purpose flour-1 1/2cup




    Meetha paan-1

    Baking powder-1 1/4tsp

    Baking soda-1/2tsp

    Green food colour-2pinch

    Tutti frutti-1tbsp

    Milk-as required


    • Grease a loaf tin using oil.Add some flour and shake it well so that it coats all the sides of the tin.
    • Preheat the oven @180°C.
    • Sieve the flour for couple of times and keep it aside.
    • In a bowl beat curd until it gets smooth.Add sugar and mix well..then add baking powder and baking soda to the curd mixture and mix well.Keep it aside for 4-5mins.
    •  Take the paan and separate the filling.Grind the paan to a fine paste.
    • Now the curd mixture will be frothy and you can see some bubbles in it.Add oil,paan puree,filling , green colour to the mixture and mix well.
    • Add flour in three batches in curd mixture and mix well.Add milk to adjust the consistency of cake batter.
    • Take tutti frutti in a bowl add a tsp of flour and mix well.Add this tutti frutti to the cake batter and fold it nicely.
    • Pour this batter into the loaf tin and bake it in a preheated oven @180°C for 30-35min.
    • Remove the tin from the oven and let it sit for couple of minutes.
    • Run a knife around the edges and gently turn it upside down on a wire rack.
    • Once it completely cooled,slice it and serve ..
